Do I need a finance background to join?
No. General Membership is open to all UT Austin students regardless of major or experience. We teach everything from the ground up.
What's the time commitment?
General members attend one meeting per week plus occasional events. Investment Team members have additional time for research and presentations.
When do Investment Team applications open?
Applications open at the start of each fall and spring semester. Follow our Instagram for exact dates and application links.
What do sponsor firms offer members?
Sponsor firms host recruiting panels, coffee chats, and info sessions exclusively for WMSO members, with direct pathways to internships and full-time roles.
How do I become an Active or Distinguished Member?
Status is earned through consistent meeting attendance, event participation, and engagement with WMSO programming throughout the semester.
Can I join mid-semester?
Yes — General Membership is open year-round. Investment Team applications are only accepted at the start of each semester.
